Bookish by Purple Fox is an Australian-based publishing brand creating empowering guides, journals, and supportive tools for tweens, teens, and the people who care for them. Founded by a grandmother and inspired by her granddaughter, our work is built on real conversations, real questions, and a shared belief that growing up should feel supported, understood — and even a little bit magical.
What began as a way to help one young girl navigate the changes of puberty has grown into a collection of thoughtfully designed resources for families everywhere. We create books and products that do more than inform — they support, reassure, and help open conversations that might otherwise feel difficult to start.

- Meet Cindy Holmes, Author & Founder
I’m Cindy — founder of Bookish by Purple Fox, a mum, grandmother, and long-time community worker with over 20 years of experience across education, health, and community support. I’ve seen firsthand how much young people — and the adults who care for them — need safe, supportive spaces to navigate life’s changes.
Bookish by Purple Fox was born from that understanding and from a deeply personal desire to help my granddaughter navigate the changes of puberty with confidence and support. What began as a way to guide her through those early conversations quickly grew into something more — a shared passion to help other girls feel just as prepared, understood, and supported. Together, that journey became the foundation of everything we create.
This lived experience shapes every book, journal, and resource we create.

Willow is the creative heart behind many of our ideas — and the reason this brand exists. As a young girl navigating the same stage of life as our readers, she brings honesty, curiosity, and a real-world perspective to everything we create.
Her voice helps shape not only the look and feel of our books and products, but also the topics we explore — ensuring what we create is not just for tweens, but genuinely with them in mind.
