Our Story
Purple Fox Publishing is an Australian independent publishing and resource brand creating books, practical resources, workshops and thoughtful products for tweens, families and the people who support them.. Founded by a grandmother and inspired by her granddaughter, our work is built on real conversations, real questions, and a shared belief that growing up should feel supported, understood — and even a little bit magical.
What began as a way to help one young girl navigate the changes of puberty has grown into a collection of thoughtfully designed resources for families everywhere. We create books and products that do more than inform — they support, reassure, and help open conversations that might otherwise feel difficult to start.

Cindy Holmes,
Author & Founder
I’m Cindy — founder of Bookish by Purple Fox, a mum, grandmother, and long-time community worker with over 20 years of experience across education, health, and community support. I’ve seen firsthand how much young people — and the adults who care for them — need safe, supportive spaces to navigate life’s changes.
Bookish by Purple Fox began with something much more personal — helping my granddaughter navigate the changes of puberty with confidence, information and a voice of her own. What started with conversations between a grandmother and granddaughter became our first puberty guide, and then something neither of us quite expected.
Today, Purple Fox has grown into books, journals, free resources, workshops, practical products and a community built around one simple idea: good support begins with listening to the people we're trying to support.
Meet Willow-Paige Holmes,
Junior Creative Director
Willow is the creative heart behind many of our ideas — and the reason this brand exists. As a young girl navigating the same stage of life as our readers, she brings honesty, curiosity, and a real-world perspective to everything we create.
Her voice helps shape not only the look and feel of our books and products, but the conversations, activities and resources we create — helping ensure they're not simply made for tweens, but created with a genuine tween perspective.

Some things are designed to teach. Some are designed to start a conversation. Some exist simply to make someone smile.
But everything we create has a reason for being here.

Purple Fox grew from real life — real questions, real conversations and the things we wished existed when we needed them.
We believe children deserve to feel heard, tweens deserve information they can understand, parents deserve support without judgement, and families deserve resources that feel human rather than clinical.
We don't create simply to fill a bookshelf or add another product to a shop. We create things we believe have a purpose — whether that's helping a girl understand what's happening to her body, giving a parent the words to begin a difficult conversation, building confidence, encouraging imagination or simply providing a much-needed laugh.
